GENERIC:
UK ISSUE #114
Issue Title:
Wanted: Galvatron, Dead or Alive

Artist:
Will Simpson
Synopsis:
In the year 2007, Rodimus Prime springs a trap on several generic Decepticons. Shortly afterwards, he's informed that one of his spies, Nautilus, has returned from a mission prematurely. Nautilus informs Rodimus that he now knows the location of Galvatron; Galvy's on Earth, 20 years in the past. Worse still, the bounty hunter Death's Head has followed Galvatron, seeking the reward Rodimus posted on the Decepticon's head. It looks like Rodimus is going to have to travel back himself...
Rant:
This is just a magnificent issue of Transformers. While establishing much of what will be the UK Comic's future-setting, it also sets up a major storyline that takes place way back in 1987. The story itself includes an incredible movie-reference scene (you'll just have to read it, it's probably one of the best Rodimus Prime sequences out there!), and of course features Death's Head. Any comic that features Death's Head blowing up Bumblebee is all right in my book.
As for generic Transformers, there's a stink-load of them. Even more importantly, this issue includes a cool obscure TF by the name of Nautilus.
In the opening sequence of issue #114, Rodimus Prime, Wreck Gar, Kup and Blurr are attacked by 8 generic Decepticons. These guys rained down missiles from their jet modes, then landed in robot modes to finish the Autobots off. Sadly for them, this was something of a trap, and Rodimus Prime's hidden reinforcements (in the shape of Ultra Magnus, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee and Jazz; all prominent movie characters) quickly turned the whole situation around. Pretty soon the lead Decepticon (We'll call him Blue-Wings, for the sake of this page) was running for his life.
When Blue-Wings fell at Rodimus Prime's feet, he begged the Autobot leader for mercy. He didn't get any.
(Incidentally, this issue has been reprinted as part of the 'Fallen Angel' TPB from Titan books, so you can pick up a copy for yourself if you want one!)

Oh, by the way, the eight Decepticon jets aren't the only generics in this story. There's also a random Autobot generic who comes to tell Rodimus Prime that Nautilus has returned from his mission early. This guy is a deformed creature who appears to be made completely of pipes. He sorta reminds me of Transmutate, so I call him Pipemutate.
